Dropped behind enemy lines in 1943, Howard Horne spends two years with a group of Italian Partisans observing German and Italian troop movements while avoiding capture. A life and running career at Penn State is interrupted by World War II as Howard Horne is thrust into a world of basic training, flight school, and OCS training in preparation for deployment overseas. After being recruited for a special mission he crosses the Mediterranean by submarine and goes ashore behind enemy lines in Northern Italy. His mission begins with nothing but a radio, a gun, a group of people he has never met and instructions to stay alive. Little did he know this would only be the beginning of his journey.
