Trey, the Chef

Autism is often stigmatized and looked at as a difficult road for parents and caregivers facing this challenge. However, children with autism have unique gifts and abilities that are often overshadowed by their social deficits. It is important to recognize the gifts in these children and to nurture their strengths. Trey, the Chef, offers a unique perspective about my son who lives with autism by telling a story about my son's interest in cooking that will hopefully inspire people to look at children with autism differently.

“Kids have to be exposed to different things in order to develop. A child is not going to find out that he likes to play a musical instrument, if you never exposed him to it…” - Temple Grandin
