You're Only as Good as Your Last Sale

Basic foundational principles of sales providing a commonsense approach to record sales growth.

Get out of your own way to be successful!

Sales has been in my blood since I was a young girl. I always made friends very easily, and I nurtured those friendships because that is how friendship works. Friendship involves being available to your friends, helping them through difficult times, sharing their pain and happiness, encouraging them, supporting them, and even guiding them with no judgment. Relationships are the cornerstone of sales proficiency and growth, like friendship.

Since I was a young girl, I was a salesperson at heart. I sold lemonade during the summer on my block in Brooklyn, New York, for $0.25 a cup. For another $0.10, we added a homemade cookie—this is called upselling. I learned very young that by giving people what they want, soon it will be what they feel they need.

My real affiliation to marketing and sales developed in the Girl Scouts, selling cookies we all love. An organization such as the Girl Scouts formed my innate ability to persuade people, to motivate people, and to lead people in the direction of buying and trying something new. Girl Scouts of America taught me to be confident, polite, honest, and direct. They taught assertiveness, self-reliance, and determination. These are virtues I use to be successful today.

In my varied sales experience—and trust me, I have sold many things in my life: sneakers, sporting goods, knives, makeup, jewelry, tutoring services—before I found my niche in health care.

I was a successful pharmaceutical representative for fifteen years selling every therapy that the company had in their portfolio. With specialties in cardiology, ENT, women's health, neurology, MRI/CT contrast.

My career in health care was further enhanced in injectable marketing to rheumatology, gastroenterology, hepatology, dermatology, neurology, oncology, orthopedics, and endocrinology to provide the authorization and delivery of medications to their patients in their homes.

Currently, I work for Option Care Health, selling home infusion. This by far has been the most rewarding because I am directly connected with the patients. There is no better feeling in the world than knowing you make a difference in people's lives.

I, as a member of the Option Care Team, have received the following awards:

• President's Circle Award, 2023

• Winner of Top Performer Award, 2023

• President's Circle Award, 2019

• Winner of Top Performer Award, 2019

• Hemophilia Top Performer Award, 2013

At Berlex Laboratories:

• Sales Representative of the Year, 1994–1997

• President Circle Award, 1990, 1994, 1997, 1999, 2001

A real estate salesperson with Real Top Properties in Brooklyn. An active member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR), Brooklyn MLS, Zillow, and StreetEasy NYC. I am willing to facilitate finding families, friends, and communities their next home.
